Method
How a reported address is checked.
1. Submission
Addresses are submitted by hand. The platforms' ad libraries are not read automatically.
2. Capture
A browser loads the site and saves a screenshot, the text and the source of the home page and the legal pages. Every file gets a checksum.
3. Signals
Checks include the legal notice, the withdrawal policy, the age of the domain, the payment methods named and conspicuous discounts. Anything that could not be checked is reported as not checked.
4. Score
The signals add up to a score from 0 to 100. It only sets the order of review.
5. Decision
A person looks at the evidence and decides. Only then can an entry be published or a report be sent.
Limits
The check sees only what the site shows without placing an order. A complete legal notice does not prove that the details are true. A high score is a suspicion, not a verdict.
